Diversity Training Doesn’t Work

While tempted to blog about more important issues such as the Montauk Monster and Bus Beheadings in Canada, I’ve made a choice to blog about a company in NYC called New Demographic. This co’s been on my mind lately in terms of their for-profit approach to diversity training and my-my do they have a list of who’s who when it comes to clientele. I’ve always thought the discussion about race to be an important one, but enough to make a living on? Dr. John Perkins is another stellar example, with his John M. Perkins Foundation For Reconciliation and Development in Jackson Mississippi. Does the West Coast have anything like these? If there were “diversity training” available in your town would you be willing to learn more? Would your workplace be open to hosting a workshop? Do you think Bellingham would be open to this? Or is “diversity training” a lame attempt at political correctedness and doesn’t work? Can it be done better?
