Diversity & The Covenant Denomination
While “emerging reactionaries” rail against denominationalism, my intro to the Evangelical Covenant via Eugene Cho has been a pleasant surprise. I’ve blogged in the past plenty of times about the blind spot of the emerging dialogue that America is fast becoming “brown” and that missional pundits don’t take this into account. Which is why the ethos of the Cov Church, including their educational institutions in Chicago have been a welcome network to join: “intentionally urban, intentionally diverse, intentionally Christian” (wikipedia). Their leadership in the emerging Church dialogue and intentional ethnic diversification have been refreshing to behold. Next month I participate in the North Pacific Conference Journey to Mosaic Conference which looks like this:

That’s gonna be AWESOME!
Is Emerald City Bible Fellowship a Covenant church? I met Harvey in my last BGU class, and he’s a great guy who’s clearly well respected throughout the entire city.
Hey,
We will be at the Daybreak Powwow all day. Give us a call and we can hang out!
Emerald City.. yessir, it is. Pastor Drake’s a Cov pastor…
Daybreak powwow: look forward to seeing you guys there!
Well, that’s a good thing to know. I figured Rev. Harvey was way too Pentecostal to be a Cov dude
The Covenant continues to impress me.
